What is NATS?

NATS provides air traffic control services to aircraft flying in UK airspace and over the eastern part of the North Atlantic.

Our responsibility is the safe and efficient management of the most complex airspace in the world.

This year we will handle more than 2.4 million flights carrying over 235 million passengers.

We provide air traffic control services at 15 of the UK's busiest airports as well as providing en route services to commercial aircraft flying over the UK, and approaching and departing UK airports.

We are a world leader in air traffic management and greatly respected in our field.

We provide our en route service under licence from the Civil Aviation Authority, which requires us to ensure a safe service, make the most efficient use of airspace and be capable of meeting reasonable levels of demand.

To do this we continually review how we manage the UK's airspace and make proposals for changes we believe are necessary. The Civil Aviation Authority
